Positive
Clara Town Team endeavours to be a positive influence in the community and to lead by example. The team will foster a can-do culture to build beneficial relationships wherever possible, with a focus on creating connected, resilient communities and better places, by supporting and promoting the Town Centre First Regeneration Masterplan.
Proactive
Clara Town Team is a proactive, non-profit organisation that includes businesses, landowners, residents and others working collaboratively with Offaly Co Council to implement the Town Centre First Regeneration Masterplan.
Clara Town Team is action-focussed and will take some responsibility for improving the community and place, by initiating/organising events and/or projects.
Inclusive
Clara Town Team is open and inclusive to all, including people who live, work, run a business and own property in the town, providing they are the appointed representative of a Clara community group and/or relevant stakeholders as is outlined in the Town Centre First Policy document Appendix 7 Town Teams p. 77. The team celebrates diversity.
Resilient and Sustainable
Clara Town Team endeavours to aid in the creation of resilient, connected and sustainable places for current and future generations in Clara. This includes environmental, social, economic and governance components of resilience and sustainability. The team furthermore intends to help create healthy and vibrant ‘places for people’, through its commitment to the implementation of the vision of the Town Centre First Masterplan.
A-political and Independent
Clara Town Team does not advocate for or align with political parties or candidates. It is independent from government, but works closely and constructively with them. The team works for the benefit of the whole community, not for individual or factional advancement. Government and/or Local Representatives however are welcome to attend a Town Team First meeting with the condition of advance notice.
Integrity, Honesty and Respect
Clara Town Team and its members will operate with integrity, honesty and respect at all times.
The Town Team Model
A Town Centre First Team is a leader and facilitator of positive change. The team bridges the gaps between governments, places, local businesses and residents.
